Reported Failures of Mini Porsche caliper brackets 2023-2024

It has come to our attention that we have had a small number of failures with our first batch of Aluminium brackets. We have seen a total of 5 reported failure of brackets (out of the 100 sets sold since moving to aluminium during 2023-2024) from our first batch switching over to 7075-T6 aluminium from the previous heavy steel design.

We have since changed machining companies after it looked like from customers images supplied that some brackets have been casted rather than machined from solid billet block of aluminium which is significantly weaker however its not possible to know which ones have been casted and which ones billet without cutting them open.

We decided to take drastic action either way and part ways with our previous machinist due to the severe importance of braking on our cars and our zero tolerance for cutting any corners. As we have sold over 100 sets we suspect that many of them are in fact perfect and strong but there's a small number / batch that have been casted.
